STATEMENT ON DEATH
INVESTIGATION:
Around 12:24 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2005, the University
of Missouri Police Department (MUPD) responded to a vehicle fire on the third
level of the Maryland Avenue Garage.
While the fire was being extinguished a deceased individual was located
in the vehicle.
MUPD with the assistance of the Columbia Police Department and
Columbia Fire Department began conducting a death investigation of the
incident. Due to the active
investigation more information can not be released at this time.
MUPD has called for assistance from the Mid Missouri Major
Case Squad and the Squad will be assisting with this investigation.
