MU Police Apprehend Suspects for Arson to Police Car

At approximately, 4:40 a.m., Friday, April 25, a University of Missouri Police Officer discovered a MUPD car on fire on the south drive of the Virginia Avenue Parking Structure.  

MUPD officers attempted to apprehend two subjects near the fire, but subjects ran from the officers and hid in the construction area near Hospital Drive and Monk Drive. With assistance from the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and the Columbia Police Department, the two subjects were apprehended at the construction site. The Columbia Fire Department also assisted in the investigation.

Two individuals have been arrested. Both of them are students.
