Results of DWI Checkpoint on the University of Missouri Campus:

As part of the University Police Department’s participation in the “You Drink & Drive, You Lose” DWI enforcement campaign, the department working with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and City of Columbia Police Department conducted a DWI Checkpoint from Aug. 21st at 11:00 p.m. to Aug. 22nd at 2:30 a.m.  This checkpoint occurred on Hitt Street between Rollins Road and University Avenue.   

During this checkpoint:

• 126 Vehicles passed through the checkpoint.
• 9 Arrests were made for Driving While Intoxicated.
• 3 Arrests were made for Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
• 1 Arrest for Driving While Suspended.
• 1 Arrest for No Operator’s License.
• 4 Tickets were issued for no insurance.

The University of Missouri Police Department wishes to thank the community for their patience and cooperation during this operation to make our community safer and encourages people who are going to go out and drink alcohol to have a sober individual with them to ensure they get home safely.
