Statement on Reported Robbery:

At approximately 2:36 a.m., Sept. 28th, a University of Missouri police officer was dispatched to a reported robbery that occurred in Parking Lot HSC1 North.  The female victim, who is a University of Missouri student, informed the officer that she had been robbed around 2:25 a.m. by a black male.

The victim reported that as she and an acquaintance walked east through parking lot HSC1 North she felt a hard pull on her purse which was on her shoulder.  As she turned around, the subject reached around her and grabbed her from behind.  As she struggled to get away, the purse came free from her arm and it fell to the ground.  At this time the suspect let go of her to try and retrieve the purse. 

The male acquaintance walking with the victim grabbed the purse from the ground and began struggling with the suspect over control of the purse.  The suspect was able to pull the purse free and ran west along Kentucky Blvd. 

The victim and her acquaintance described the suspect as follows:

• Black Male
• Approximately 6 foot tall
• Medium Build
• Black Ski Mask
• Black Hooded Jacket
• Black Athletic Pants
• Unknown Age

The victim did not report any injuries.  Additional details cannot be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
