Update on June Robbery Reported Near Hitt Street Garage:

At approximately 10:22 a.m., June 17th, Investigators from the University Police Department arrested a 15 year old juvenile for second degree robbery and first degree trespassing in reference to a robbery that occurred on June 13th around 9:50 p.m. near the Hitt Street parking garage.  Additional details cannot be released at this time due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Officers continue to look for a second subject described as a black male, age: 16-18, 5’07” - 5’09,” short hair/almost a buzz cut, who was wearing a black hat, dark blue or black jeans, and a dark blue shirt the night of the incident. 

Additionally, the department is asking for assistance in identifying a potential witness who may have seen the suspects in the area just prior to the robbery.  The attached photos show a vehicle turning around near the west entrance to the Hitt Street parking garage around 9:47 p.m. just prior to the robbery.  It is believed this driver may be able to provide additional details that will aid with the description of the suspects.  This driver is not considered a suspect or believed to be involved with the robbery.

Original Statement on Reported Robbery:

At approximately 10 p.m., June 13th, a University of Missouri police officer was dispatched to a reported robbery that occurred on the southwest corner of the Hitt Street parking garage.  The female victim, who is a University of Missouri student, informed the officer that she had been robbed around 9:45 p.m. by two black males.

The victim reported as she walked down a path located around the southwest corner of the Hitt Street parking garage she heard a male voice yell something at her from behind.  As she turned toward the direction of the voice, she noticed a black male running toward her.  The male punched her in the right side of her face and she fell to the ground.  At this time she noticed a second black male running up and he began punching her in the back of her head.  One of the males pulled her purse off her shoulder and the male subjects ran southeast toward the Professional Building located on the University of Missouri campus.

The victim described the suspects as follows:

The victim received minor injuries; however, refused medical treatment.  Additional details cannot be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
