Advanced R.A.D.
The advanced R.A.D. class takes up where the basic
class leaves off. Enhanced options for ground defense, options for multiple
attackers and defense against weapons are just a part of what makes
up this class. Additional focus is given to the use of leverage and balance displacement
to overcome size differences between students and potential attackers.
The entire advanced class is 16 hours. The Basic R.A.D. class is a
prerequisite for the advanced class.
Combined Aerosol/Keychain Defense
Keychain Self-Defense is taught as a combination six hour class with
Aerosol Defense. This class addresses methods of carrying
a defensive keychain, striking motions using a defensive keychain, and
a variety of defensive techniques using both the kubaton style keychain
and the flashlight style keychain. Aerosol Defense addresses
selection of a chemical irritant (pepper spray, mace etc.),
effects of wind and weather on aerosol defense, the hazards
of using a chemical irritant, and defensive techniques
used in combination with aerosol defense. The Basic R.A.D. class is a
prerequisite for Aerosol/Keychain Defense.
Car Care Clinics
The Car Care Clinics are open to men and women.
In this four hour, hands-on, course students learn how to perform
basic maintenance on their own vehicle. Material covered includes
changing tires, jump starting and pop starting a vehicle, checking
tire pressure, checking fluid levels, and frequency of basic maintenance.
Students are also familiarized with the basic systems in their vehicles
and taught how to recognize several basic problems.
RAD for Men
Resisting Aggression with Defense, AKA RAD for Men, is designed to empower men to make different decisions when confronted with aggressive behavior. This is the first step toward reducing aggression and violence for men and their loved ones. The basic program is twelve hours in length. Instructors attempt to provide attendees with information, tactics, and considerations which we believe may be useful for various types of confrontational encounters perpetrated against men. By investing time and effort into this program, attendees will be presented with educational options to resist aggression. Attendees will also be asked to raise their awareness of aggressive behavior, recognize how aggressive behavior impacts their lives, take steps to avoid aggressive behavior, and to look at how they can be part of reducing aggression and violence.
RAD for Seniors
RAD for Seniors is open to men and women age 60+. Exceptions regarding age will be made on a case by case basis. This class is broken up into ten 1.5 hour sessions. All sessions include some classroom and some physical techniques. Classroom includes topics pertinent to senior adults such as legal ramifications of defending oneself, reducing safety risks at home and out and about, reporting incidents, weapon defense, defensive strategies, medications, financial scams/fraud, handling emergencies, public transportation, and sexual assault. Physical Techniques will cover movement, blocking punches, strikes, kicks, ground defense, choke holds, bear hugs, and more. The techniques taught in this class are designed for the physical challenges faced by senior adults.

This course takes a comprehensive approach to dealing with active shooter/violent intruder incidents that may occur in the workplace, school, or public settings. Participants are taught to use integrated strategies incorporating Environmental Design, Technology & Communication, Law Enforcement Response, and most importantly, ACTION by those in immediate danger because they are the REAL First Responders. This class includes a 2 hour classroom session coupled with a 2 hour practical, hands-on session.
